I've been a big fan of Jay Conrad Levinson's books for the last number of years. His "guerilla marketing" handbook and the series of books that it spawned, are well worth reading for anyone who is interested in marketing their business.

So the "social media" title caught my attention.

The book seems to have been written mostly by Shane Gibson, though Jay Conrad Levninson's name is also on the cover.
It covers a wide range of topics related to using social media tools to promote your business and also has a strong focus on measuring success.
If you're already using social media to promote your business then this book will probably open your eyes to some new ideas that you can adopt for your business. If you've never used social media for business, then this will walk you through it.

Definitely worth reading regardless of your level of experience.

Hello Michelle,

Thank-you for your book review. I thought I would share with you how Jay and I wrote the book together while I was in Vancouver Canada and he was in Debary (Orlando Florida).

Firstly, used Jay's Guerrilla Marketing Handbook as a text for years when I ran a Youth Entrepreneur Program here in Canada for 19-29 year olds. I also used the guerrilla tactics to launch several of my own ventures. Jay and I met in person in April 2009 in Satiago, Chile while speaking at a conference. It was then after talking, debating and collaborating we decided to write a book together. Before writing here is what I did:

- Read 6 of Jay's most recent books cover-to-cover
- Attend Jay's Guerrilla Marketing Intensive in Florida
- Get certified as a Guerrilla Marketing Master Trainer
- The Jay and I spent a week together debating, collaborating and creating the concept and outline for the book
- Then after that major Guerrilla Marketing download/brain-meld the student (that's me) went away and wrote the book based upon my background in social media and my guerrilla marketing certification and mentorship.
- Jay reviewed each chapter and "guerrillafied" it as needed.

Jay's body of knowledge and my social media knowledge was definitely an equal 50/50 contribution. Once again thanks for the book review!
